Europe is a multicultural Continent. Its antique culture and civilisation have been disseminated throughout the World.

Portugal, a small country in this small Continent, has known how to spread its experience and knowledge around the World.

Portugal is also amongst the World’s best in stamp collecting. For its stamp creation, with its stamps having been considered the most beautiful in several occasions, as well as for its organised collections, able to rival the best in the World.

We also wish Portugal 2010 to be one of the best exhibits in the World. We would like its memory to last for many years, for those visiting it; we also hope that those unable to visit this exhibit may feel how beautiful it was.

This is why I would like to leave a double invitation to the exhibiters who have accepted our invitation to be present. The first invitation is to include your beautiful collections and turn Portugal 2010 into a high-level exhibit; the second invitation is to visit our country of seafarers, tolerant and universal, to feel our hospitality, our courtesy and, above all, the Lisbon atmosphere, Arab and European, where narrow streets and quaint neighbourhoods reflect our past and our present.

The presence of all will make us proud to receive our friends and, above all, the World’s stamp collectors.
