October 9th, World Post Office Day
9th October, World day of the Post
To commemorate the partnership which started in 2006 with the National Plan for Reading, the CTT releases in the World Day of the Post one more philatelic issue about School Mail.
Under this partnership the CTT have tried to promote a space which could stimulate the practice of writing and reading. Namely providing packages of stamps and writing material to the children and to the schools in order they may exchange letters with others schools and other children and also animation around the reading and writing or issuing stamps that have themes related to the school, the young people and their practices of writing and reading.
This issue, which takes part of the program “Where does your imagination take you?” is the culmination of one more challenge to schools and which had the participation of the younger ones: to make a stamp which theme was: “The Media”.
All the works received show a very clear idea children have about the space where the proliferation of means and channels, is a reality.
The jury was composed by members of the “National Plan of Reading” and also by members of CTT, who had aesthetic and creative rules to choose all the designs received and they have given one prize for each level of education: Pre School and 1st and 2nd cycles of the Basic Education.
Further other awards and just like previous years, all the winners have now, the opportunity to see their “masterpieces” shown on the stamps of this issue.
